GJC was at the Epicenter of Global Diplomacy
Antalya hosted the third Antalya Diplomacy Forum, which was held with approximately 5000 participants from 147 countries and became the epicenter of global diplomacy.
Leading figures from the world of international relations and diplomacy, statesmen, academics and media representatives came together at the forum organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
This year’s forum hosted many important panels and bilateral meetings besides served as an important platform in the search for solutions to many global problems, from Gaza to the Ukraine-Russia war, from new trends in Africa to the security architecture of Europe.
In this year’s sessions of the forum, issues such as sustainable development, climate change, international security and media cooperation were discussed. This event plays a critical role in promoting collaboration and dialogue among decision-makers around the world.
Within the scope of this important event, journalist Dr. Esra Öztürk, Vice President of Mainstream Media Council of Global Journalism Council (GJC) also attended the Antalya Diplomacy Forum. Dr. also held special interviews at the forum with important names such as South Africa’s Foreign Minister Naledi Pandor, who is the voice of the world’s conscious for Gaza, Hungary’s Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó, Türkiye’s closest NATO ally, and Toivo Klaar, European Union Special Representative for the South Caucasus. Öztürk also aimed to contribute to the development of GJC’s cooperation in the fields of media and diplomacy with the meetings he held at the forum.
Dr. Öztürk met with H.E. Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, former Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye and Head of Turkish Delegation to NATO Parliamentary Assembly of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, and reiterated the council’s gratitude for the support it has given to the GJC. Underlining Turkey’s positive role in international media relations, Çavuşoğlu said, “The growth that the Council has shown in this short period of time is extraordinary. I am sure that GJC will do much more successful work. Türkiye needed a media council like GJC. We will keep supporting the council.” he said.
Dr. Öztürk also gave information about the activities and objectives of the GJC, in her short meeting with Kosovo Regional Development Minister Fikrim Damka, and declared the GJC’s intention to develop cooperation in the media field between Türkiye and Kosovo. Minister Damka stated that he would be very pleased with the Kosovo and Turkish media coming together and the cooperation basis that will be created.
