4th Global Media Gathering in Alanya on October 3-6

The 4th Global Media Gathering of the Global Journalism Council (GJC) will be held in Alanya between October 3-6 with the participation of important Turkish and foreign journalists from Turkey and nearly 30 countries. The guest of honor of the giant organization will be Gagauzia President Evghenia Gutul.

The 4th Global Media Gathering, which has become a tradition and the first three of which were hosted by Alanya, consists of a series of events, especially the Media Workshop and Award Ceremony. Within the scope of the meeting, which will be attended by GJC journalists from Turkey and the world and important foreign journalists from nearly 30 countries, various trips to Alanya’s touristic spots will also be organized.
Gagauzia President Evghenia Gutul will also receive an award at the giant organization hosted by Alanya’s important touristic facilities Eftelia, Adin and Lonicera hotels.

GJC TOGETHER

Almost all of the members of GJC nationwide, local and foreign media assemblies as well as many provincial representatives of GJC and nearly 30 of the foreign country representatives in 75 countries will attend the Alanya meeting. Within the scope of the meeting, guest journalists who will come to Alanya on Thursday, October 3, will discover Alanya with a trip to be organized on Friday, October 4. On Saturday, October 5, before the Media Workshop, which will start in the afternoon, the elected boards of GJC will hold their meetings until noon and discuss the professional and sectoral agenda and reports that will constitute the workshop agenda. The workshop, which will start after the ordinary meetings of the GJC management and the mainstream, local and foreign media councils, will include presentations on various topics as well as professional problems and solutions. With the participation of local and foreign journalists, sectoral and social cooperation and solidarity opportunities will be discussed.

DIGITAL AND SOCIAL MEDIA AGENDA

The media panel will also discuss professional development and the future of journalism (such as digitalization and artificial intelligence).
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Yayman, Chairman of the TBMM Digital Media Commission, who is also a journalist, will give important information about the legal regulations and legal developments regarding today’s social media channels, especially Google.
In the media panel, Prof. Dr. Levent Eraslan “The impact of social media on traditional journalism”, Prof. Dr. Zakir Avşar “Ethical stance in the media in the light of current events”, Zafer Küçükşabanoğlu “Artificial intelligence in the media” and İsmail Bayazıt “Big data” will be moderated by Yayman. Afterwards, the final declaration will be announced.

7 GLOBAL ACHIEVEMENT AWARDS TO BE PRESENTED

On the evening of October 5, at the award ceremony to be held in the ballroom of the 5-star Lonicera World Hotel, the President of Gagauzia Evghenia Gutul, who will attend as the guest of honor, as well as important local and foreign names from the world of media and politics will take place. Global Achievement Awards will be given in 7 branches again this year. Gutul, the president of the sister autonomous state of Moldova where Turks live, will be given the Global Diplomacy Award by GJC. In addition to Gutul, important names from the media and sports community will also receive awards. Among the award recipients are a journalist working in Palestine and a media organization working in Palestine.

DIM INCREASING MOMENTUM EVERY YEAR IS PLEASING

GJC President Mehmet Ali Dim said that the increasing interest and momentum of the traditional Alanya meetings every year is pleasing. Stating that journalists from nearly 30 countries including Turkey will participate in the event in Alanya in accordance with the global and international identity of the Council, Dim said, “We will also make an important contribution to the touristic image of the world brand Alanya.
